“Shen” – known as the spirit of the Heart in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. When it is healthy, it shines in the face and sparkles through the eyes.
The beauty industry knows the value of sparking eyes and glowing skin. Models and actresses with sparkling eyes and radiant glow are the ones who attract more fans, get more work and whose careers go further.
Its only natural because Shen draws us in. It has a magnetic effect – it attracts and captivates.
But Shen is not only about beauty. It is the totality of one’s level of consciousness, sharpness of mental functions, state of mental health and overall vitality. It is what connects the heart and the face, as well as the body and the soul. It is essentially one’s innermost “presence,” and is visible in the eyes.
Shen is nourished by the blood and “lives” in the blood vessels. Any part of you can contain Shen. The eyes, however, broadcast it most effectively. Eyes that are bright and shining with vitality are healthy and full of good Shen. Eyes that are dull are vapid have disturbed Shen.
Clearly, Shen isn’t something that can be applied from a jar of makeup or skin cream. Nor can it be obtained through plastic surgery. It comes from a radiant state of health.
Unfortunately those who have experienced serious trauma or are harboring long-term emotional problems (even if it occurred decades ago) cannot nourish their Shen adequately.
The trauma doesn’t need to be extreme or exotic. Sometimes it is as mundane as dental work. Even as mundane as that is, its enough to block some degree of circulation and movement of energy in the body, head and face (or a great deal of circulation and energy, depending on the degree of trauma).
It doesn’t stop with dental trauma – there are so many other ways that people can experience trauma or shock, such as auto accidents, sports injuries, falls, surgeries, serious illnesses, emotional/relationship conflicts and difficulties, divorce, childhood trauma, etc.
Sadly, typical methods of facial rejuvenation do nothing to restore the kind of circulation and movement of energy in the body, head and face that nourishes Shen and releases the trauma. Luckily, our Natural Facial Rejuvenation Programs do.
The techniques and practices we teach come from ancient Chinese principles and knowledge, augmented with modern discoveries. Combined, they produce the restoration and rejuvenation or Shen.. and improve health.
Practiced regularly, these techniques stimulate a deeply harmonious level of beauty that no amount of money can buy.
